In with the old and out with the new. A very popular expression at this time of year, which bespeaks our aspirations for many areas in our lives. Let's all vow to make this a decided attack on fizzled out good intentions and careless attitudes toward things that are really important -- like giving blood. When you donate a unit of blood, it has the potential of saving up to three lives.
Wow. When you realize that you can give blood every two months, just think of the potential.
Many turned out for the New Year's Eve drive at Brewton Community Center, and we thank each one, as well as our great volunteers, The Brewton Standard for the coverage, WEBJ, The Garden Gate Florist, Cingular Wireless, and Mrs. Rogene Martin, the East Escambia chapter manager, for cooking chili for everyone.
Please watch the newspaper and listen to WEBJ for drive announcements, and if you would like to volunteer to help with drives please contact the local office at 867-3426 or come to 1014 Douglas Avenue, Suite 3, across from Dairy Queen.
Together we can save a life.
