The Escambia County Commission held its second regularly scheduled meeting of the month Monday.
Commissioners awarded a contract in the amount of $39,700 to Jim Peach Motors of Brewton for two police cruisers, to be used by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office. Jim Peach Motors was the only company to enter a bid for the contract.
The Commission also voted to lease a super crew truck for $26,766, from Staff Chevrolet in Atmore.
The truck is for use by the county Drug Task Force.
The approval of this purchase was made contingent upon county attorney Thad Moore's approval of a three-year lease agreement with Staff Chevrolet.
Commissioners also voted to use grant funding for the purchase of 17 Emergency Management Agency radios from Macht Communications of Brewton.
In other action, the commission voted to accept Pleasant View Drive, a dirt road, into the county road system, and appointed Carol Fountain to the Escambia County Cooperative Library System.
