George Arnold Brown, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004 in a Pensacola hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Flomaton and had worked with the Board of Education of Escambia County for at least 35 years. He served as principal for the elementary and middle schools for Flomaton. He also was a United States veteran serving in the Army.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Brown; a son, George A. Brown Jr. of Century, Fla.; a daughter, Alice Morgan Morris of Flomaton; a sister, Nathia B. McCall of Jay, Fla.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 31, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Pugh and Rev. Jesse Lough officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Leroy Steele, Charles Rickard, Doug Reid, Edmond Knowles, Darryl Fore and James Pugh.
