Sharron Smith has been named General Manager of The South Central Alabama Classified Marketplace (SCACM), the classified sales and service center for The Brewton Standard and Escambia Advertiser, The Andalusia Star-News and Extra, The Atmore Advance, The Butler County News, The Greenville Advocate and Butler Express, The Lowndes Signal, The Luverne Journal and Bonus Express and The Troy Messenger and Bonus.
She comes to SCACM from Newnan, Ga., where she was the classified manager of one of Georgia's fastest growing newspapers, The Times-Herald.
Smith, who joined SCACM on Monday, Feb. 2, will be based in the classified marketplace's call center in Andalusia.
Smith said she has several goals she would like to achieve in the SCACM beginning with improving customer service.
Two ways she hopes to reach that goal is through education and training.
Smith also has extensive experience in training classified sales and service representatives, the second component of her goals.
Customers are the most important part of our business and we're going to work on improving our relationship with them."
Although she's been gone from Alabama for a few years, Smith is returning to familiar territory.
The Clanton Advertiser and SCACM members are all part of the Boone Newspapers organization.
