Mrs. Bessie Mae Smith Holladay, 88, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004 in a Mobile nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, Ala. She was a member of North Brewton Baptist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by three sisters, Myrtle Q. Williams of Mobile, Gertrude Sowell of Daphne and Gladys Newton Stevens and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Michael King and Rev. Steve Yuhasz officiating. Burial followed at Zion Hill Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
