Roy Holland Weaver III

Mr. Roy Holland Weaver III, 44, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 in an accident at Daytona International Speedway. He was a native of Andalusia and a resident of Ormond Beach, Fla. He was a seven year employee of the Speedway. He was active in his church, Tomoka Christian Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher. He was a board member of Association of Retarded Citizens (ARC) where he received the Dove Award He also served on Leadership Volusia and Volusia County Government Citizens Academy and had served as a minister of Calvary Assembly of God Church from 1986 to 1998. His family was selected as the Greater Daytona Beach Area YMCA Family of the Year in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Scarborough Weaver; two daughters, Rebecca Lee Weaver and Rachel Magdalene Weaver; one son, Roy Holland Weaver IV; his parents, Syble Godwin and Roy Holland Weaver Jr. of Andalusia; a sister, Kay Ingram of Andalusia; his grandmother, Bessie Mae Weaver of Brewton; his uncle, Lawrence Weaver of Brewton; his aunt, June Martin of Brewton; his great-aunts, Vivian Milligan and Janell Winchester. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Holland Weaver Sr.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at Tomoka Christian Church in Ormond Beach.
