The first item on the agenda was a presentation by Jane Henderson with the Escambia-Brewton Career Technical Center. Henderson presented the board with gifts in appreciation of their service to the school system.

The school board also approved an equipment bid in the amount of $29,535, to be awarded to Goodwin Brothers, Inc.
There was discussion among the board about a grant that would provide funds to allow students to participate in community service on Saturdays as a disciplinary measure.
The board has received verbal approval of the grant, which would be renewable for three years, and plans are being made to begin the program March 1.
