Congratulations to the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers for a successful and exciting season. We at The Standard have had fun covering their successes, and can only imagine the excitement of the players, coaches and dedicated fans as the season kept getting better and better, right up until the final game.
The Lady Tigers lost that final contest, falling last week in the state championship game to a tough Abbeville squad. But the results of that one game should in no way lessen the satisfaction the players and their coaches take from having had an outstanding year. It certainly doesn't lessen the pride the town has taken in their achievements.
Having advanced to the state title game will no doubt be something the young basketball players carry with them for the rest of their lives. Not many can say they've done that. Along the way, the players and their coaches created a lot of excitement and scrapbook moments for fans of the team, a lot of memories that won't soon fade.
Thanks to the team and everyone associated with it for the great effort this year, and the good times we all had following along.
