Mrs. Sara Ruth Liles Sowell, 89, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 in a local hospital. She was a native and long-time resident of Brewton. In her working years, she worked for Southern Title and Abstract Company. She was a member of the Fidelis Sunday school class at First Baptist Church of Brewton.
She is survived by two sons, Mark S. Sowell Jr. of Pensacola and Duncan Liles Sowell of Mobile; one brother, Thomas P. Liles of Brewton; a sister, Carolyn Liles of Brewton; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Brewton with Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Mark Sowell III, Stephen Sowell, Buddy Liles, Wayne Gardner, Duncan Liles and Lee Liles. Donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Brewton.
