Local attorney Danny White has qualified as a candidate for the office of District Attorney for Escambia County. White practices law from his Atmore office located at 113-B, S. Pensacola Avenue, where he has been in business for seven years. He also has an office in Brewton, located at 304 Sowell Street.
White was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1992 and practiced law with his brother, Earnest Ray White, before serving as Escambia County Public Defender for five years. He served as part-time Public Defender for the City of Brewton for 12 years. White is a 1992 graduate of Jones School of Law in Montgomery. He received his bachelor of science in criminal justice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham after attending Jefferson Davis Community College and the University of West Florida.
White is a lifelong resident of Flomaton. He is married to Teresa Renfroe White and they have three daughters -- Caitlin, Haley and Lindsey. White is a member and a Deacon of First Baptist Church of Flomaton where he has served as Interim Minister of Music for more than 15 years. He has coached Little League Baseball for 12 years and has coached Pee Wee Football. He is also a member of the Flomaton Quarterback Club and has served as president of the Flomaton PTO for six years.
White said, "I believe my experience in private practice and criminal defense will be an asset in the administration of the office of the District Attorney and in the prosecution of criminal cases. My 12 years of trying criminal cases, both jury and non-jury, and dealing with defendants and victims has given me keen insight into the criminal justice system. I want to help curb the drug abuse problem in Escambia County and particularly, the problem with drugs in the schools."
