On March 13, the Greater Brewton Lions Club held a special pancake breakfast as a fund raiser in support of eye care for indigent persons.
For the past few years, this event has been held at the Methodist Church where breakfast was served from 6 to 10 a.m.
More than 200 people enjoyed the opportunity to eat an unlimited amount of pancaked, sausage, orange juice, milk and coffee.
The support of the community has made this a successful event and the dollars raised are used for eye exams, eye glassses and even surgery for those qualified.
The pancake breakfast was supported by local merchants who donate much of the food while the Lions Club members stepped forward to prepare and serve the many breakfast orders. This event is one of several which enables the Greater Brewton Lions Club to meet the eyesight needs of indigent families in our community
