Neal track boys drop first meet

Although they did not have the services of all their kids available, the entries the W.S. Neal track team had at Tuesday's meet at Monroe County certainly made their presence felt.
Monroe County won the boys competition 66-40, but the Blue Eagles took first place in seven events.
Mario Daniel and Ray Dunn were both double individual winners. Daniel captured top honors in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.66 and the 200 meter dash at 21.3. Meanwhile Dunn prevailed in the 800 meters at 2:12 and the 3200 meters at 13:31.
Shon Biddle was also a first place winner for the Blue Eagles, as he crossed the finish line in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:29. Chris Johnson gave W.S. Neal a victory in the field events with a winning throw in the shot put of 44-11 3/4.
W.S. Neal's 3200 meter relay team of Dunn, Biddle, Keith Weaver and Ronald Travis provided the other first place mark with a combined effort of 9:24.
Other marks for W.S. Neal inclued two places for Jonathan Alexander. Alexander was runner-up in the 400 meters at 56.75 and third in the 200 meter dash at 23.1. Cecil Thomas took second place in the triple jump at 37-3. Dewayne Floyd posted a third place finish in the 400 meter dash at 56.81.

W.S. Neal had only four girls, but took first place in three of the events they entered. Monroe County won the team competition 50-16.
Brittany Tagudar claimed the 400 meters with a time of 1:11 and Tierra Andrews took the 800 meters at 3:11.
W.S. Neal's 400 meter relay team of Tagudar, Andrews, Jamica Thomas and Tiara Matthews also took first place at 56.22.
