Mrs. Iva Lee Jernigan Smith, 83, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004 in a Milton, Fla. medical facility after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County, Ala. She was a member of East Brewton First Assembly of God Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Clarence "Buddy" Smith of Brewton; a brother, Leon Jernigan of Brewton; three sisters, Cora Lee Stalnaker of Lake Butler, Fla., Doris Crutchfield of Seattle, Wash. and Voncile Ellis of Brewton; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 25, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Thomas and Rev. James Irby officiating. Burial followed at Zion Hill Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
