Mrs. Leota Peggy Goodson, 77, died March 21, 2004. She was a life-long resident of Jay and a member of Cora Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rex Goodson of Jay; two sons, Larry Goodson of Melbourne, Fla. and Steve Goodson of Jay; a sister, Louise Tyree of Jay; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 24, at 1 p.m. at Cora Baptist Church with Rev. LaDon Hall and Rev. Jerry Keese officiating. Burial followed at Cora Cemetery with Jay Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Oakland Ard, Mike Wetzel, Leon Jackson, Larry Thornton, William Watson and Ben West. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Cora Baptist Church and Dr. C. David Smith, M.D.
