Miss Reshena Young, 17, died Saturday, April 3, 2004 as a result of a vehicle accident. She was a native of Pensacola, Fla. and had lived all her life in this area. She was a senior at W.S. Neal High School, was number seven in her class, a member of the National Honor Society and participated in volleyball, track and field. She was a member of Christian Ministries and Fellowship where she was very involved with activities. She had worked at Magnolia Super Foods and as a counselor at the YMCA. She was preceded in death by an uncle, Farris L. Young; grandfather, Eddie Lee Young and her great-grandmother, Onnie Mae Lucado.
She is survived by her father, Henry Lee "Buddy" Samuel Jr.; her step-mother, Kristal Samuel; her mother Redena Young; two sisters, Keeamber N. Samuel and Jovan G. Parker; a brother, Jymon C. Samuel; grandparents, Juanita Schmidt, Henry Lee Samuel and Deloise Young; great-grandmother, Lillie E. Lewis; aunts, Agatha Gwendolyn Cecil, Sandra L. Samuel, Clarice McWilliams and Letrice D. Price; uncles, Michael E. Samuel, Albert L. Patton, Anthony J. Patton and Lee E. Young and many friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 9, at 1 p.m. at W.S. Neal High School Auditorium with Rev. Danny Benjamin and Elder Herman Bradley officiating. Burial followed at Sandy Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral directing.
