The Indians notched two wins last week to take the early lead in the Brewton Little League Age 11-12 division.
The Marlins were also a double winner last week to stay one game off the pace.
Indians 6, Royals 1
The Indians racked out five extra base hits in the win over the Reds.
Terez Lane homered and drove in two runs. Trevor Diercks and Bryant Jernigan each had a double and an RBI. Wil Riggs collected a double, two singles and scored twice. Gordon Jones had a double and scored twice.
Corey Rilling led the Royals with two singles, a double and an RBI. Paul Busby had a single and a double.
Jones started on the hill and got the win for the Indians. He struck out nine and gave up three hits in three innings of work. Riggs struck out seven and gave up two hits over the last three frames.
Busby took the loss for the Royals despite seven strikeouts in three innings.
Indians 8, Reds 6
Dylan Bell and Trevor Diercks paced the Indians to a key win over the Reds. Bell had a single, a double, an RBI and scored two runs. Diercks added two singles with one RBI.
The Indians also got a double from Gordon Jones. Chris Mallard added a single and an RBI. Edward Hines an Bryant Jernigan each had a single.
The Reds received a double and an RBI from Cody Swain and a single and an RBI from Jon Jones. Shan Fleming had a double, while Bradley Brown and Robert Knowles each had a single. Eli Tyree crossed the plate twice.
Jones was the winning Indians pitcher, as he allowed one hit and struck out seven in three innings. Riggs fanned three in two innings of work and collected a save.
Knowles was the starting and losing hurler for the Reds.
Marlins 9, Reds 8
The Marlins needed seven innings to edge the Reds.
Cameron Miller and Nick Moore both had two singles for the Marlins, while Trent Robinson had a triple, an RBI and scored two runs. Brian Sims also had a triple, while Avery Couture, Cliff Foster and Jaren Jackson all had a single. Will Hall scored a pair of runs.
Three Marlins pitchers held the Reds to two hits. Moore, the starter, fanned 11 and did not give up a hit in three and two-thirds innings. Miller struck out five and gave up two hits in two and one-third innings. Jacob Hunter worked a hitless seventh inning and got the win.
Bradley Brown had one of the two hits for the Reds, a single. Jon Jones also had a single. Cody Swain scored four runs, while Cameron Knowles dotted homeplate twice.
Eli Tyree, the third of three Reds pitchers, took the loss with one inning of relief. Swain, the starter, struck out five and gave up just on hit.
Marlins 7, Royals 3
Nick Moore lashed out a single, a double and a triple to go along with three RBIs and two runs scored for the victorious Marlins.
Harrison Horton had asingle, an RBI and scored two runs. Trent Robinson had a single and scored twice. Brian Sims added a single.
The Royals got a triple from Devlin Crosby and Stephen Warren. Paul Busby and James Matthews each added a single.
Starting hurler Cameron Miller won the game for the Marlins. He did not give up a hit in his three innings of work and struck out five. Robinson also fanned five in three innings of work for a save. Ryland Dixon took the loss for the Royals.
