Mrs. Lou Emma Hale, 102, died Friday, April 30, 2004. She was a native of Lowndes County and a resident of Century for many years. She was the oldest member of Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church, member of the choir and served on the usher board. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Will Hale and her daughter, Minnie Williams.
She is survived by six daughters, Claudia Hale and Lillie Hale, both of Farmersville, Ala., Lucille Hunter, Annie Ewing and Willie Nell Lowe, all of Century and Rosie Hale of Albion, Mich.; two sons, Roy Hale and Rosevelt Hale, both of Century; one sister, Lucille Hale of Farmersville, Ala.; 53 grandchildren; 101 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 8, at noon at Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church with Pastor Leanord Watson Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Century Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home directing.
