Timiya Sharel Nolan of W.S. Neal High School, daughter of Joyce Dent and Timothy Nolan, graduates with a 4.47 GPA and is the valedictorian of her class.
Included in her special honors were Junior Miss 2004 Scholastic Winner and Second Alternate; full scholarship to UAB; Bryant Jordan Academic winner and School Toyota Community Service Award.
Her extracurricular activities included Basketball, captain; band, captain; member of the NEA, Mu Alpha Theta; National Honor Society, president; Student Council, secretary and Track, fifth Discus in State.
She lists her favorite teacher as Kanetra Germany and her hardest class as economics. She plans to attend the University of Alabama and major in biology in order to become a doctor of osteopathy. Her advice for an incoming freshman is to live life, study hard and make a few friends to help you.
Brett Zackry Chancery of W.S. Neal High School, the son of Gene Chancery of Flomaton and Debby Parr of Brewton, graduates with a 4.41818 GPA, a numeric average of 99.18182 and is the salutatorian of his class.
His special honors include Alabama Boy's State, HOBY and Who's Who Among High School Students. His extracurricular activities include three years football, four years basketball, three years tennis, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Council Chaplain for three consecutive years; one year track, church youth group and Drama Club.
He has been awarded a $12,000 Dean's Scholarship to the University of Mobile and a $1,000 Marie and Adrian Downing Scholarship.
He lists his favorite teacher as his math teacher, Rachael Knowles and his hardest course as anatomy.
He plans to major in religion and history with teacher certification at the University of Mobile and his advice for an incoming freshman is to be involved and enjoy your high school experience to the fullest.
Amy Danielle Mize of Flomaton High School, daughter of Joe and Andra Mize, graduates with a 4.51 GPA and is the valedictorian of her class.
Her activities and honors include Student Council (SCA), four years; SCA Corresponding secretary, one year; Student Council president, one year; Beta Club, four years; Beta Club secretary, one year; Jr. Core, four years; Jr. Core treasurer, one year; FCCLA, one year; FCCLA Class treasurer, one year; Drama Club, two years; First Priority, two years; Joy Club, one year; Math team, three years; Marching Band, two years; Concert Band, two years; Band Librarian, one year; Band Representative, one year; Class president, one year, Class vice-president, two years; Class Favorite, one year; Girls State representative, one year; Who's Who Among American High School Students, three years; National honor roll, four years; National Student Council Award, two years; National History Government Award, two years; National Leadership Merit Award, one year; All American Scholar Award, one year; Underclassmen Friendliest, one year; Underclassmen Most Organized, tow years; Character Trait Courtesy one year; Academic All-Star, four years; Escambia County School Board Strategic Planning Committee, one year; Principal's Leadership Award, one year; Outstanding Student of America, one year; Duel Enrollment, two years and Senior Who's Who Most Intellectual.
She is a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church, Escambia Baptist Association Summer Missionary and Children's Camp Counselor and LEBC puppet ministry.
She lists her favorite teacher as Tammy Bonds and her hardest subject as Honors English. She plans to attend Jefferson Davis Community College for her associate's degree; transfer to University of West Florida and receive her bachelor's degree in elementary education.
Her advice for an incoming freshman is to always do your best, be yourself and never conform to the ways of the world.
Jacob Samuel Johnson of Flomaton High School is the son of Tony and Donna Johnson. He graduated with a 4.46 GPA and is the salutatorian of his class. His awards and achievements include Academic All-Star, four years; National Honor Roll, four years; Who's Who Among High School Students, four years; Alabama Boys State representative, Southern Pine Outstanding Student award; Class Favorite, three years; National Leadership Award; National History and Government Award; Congressional Leadership Award; National Society of High School Scholars, U.S. Achievement Academy Award, four years; Escambia County Math Tournament, eighth place in county; Weightlifting 500 Pound Club Award, Challenger Award, Chamber of Commerce Student of the Years Award and Who's Who, Most Intellectual.
His activities include Fellowship of Christian Athletes, president, one year; Sr. Beta Club, four years, vice president, one year; Little Escambia Baptist Youth Choir and Group Member; Drama Club, four years; J.V. Baseball, one year; Varsity Baseball, one year; Math Team, four years; Honors Classes, four years, Marching Band Drumline, one year; First Priority, two years; Jr. Core; four years; Dual Enrollment, three years; Spanish Club, two years; National Psychology Honor Society and Praise and Worship Band, two years.
His personal interests include playing the guitar, singing, going to church, drawing, listening to music and weightlifting.
He lists his favorite teachers as Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Rogers and his hardest course as Honors English 12.
He plans to attend Auburn University to study aerospace engineering and his advice for an incoming freshman is to respect God, others and yourself; don't talk back to your teachers and in the words of Mrs. Rogers, "Do what you can afford."
