Mrs. Dorothy James Mancil Baker, 87, of Travis Road died Thursday, May 20, 2004 in a local hospital after an extended illness. She was a native and former resident of Falco before moving to Brewton in 1946 and Riverview in 1950. She was a retired spinner machine operator with Monsanto Corporation and the former mayor of Riverview for 12 years. She was a member of Pilgrim's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by her husband, William Samuel Baker of Brewton; two sons, Reginald Mancil of Brewton and L.C. Mancil of Ozark; a daughter, Jane Dixon of Brewton; a sister Hazel Langford of Andalusia; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 22, at 1 p.m. at Williams Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred White officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
