Leah Carolyon Lambert of T.R. Miller High School, the daughter of Chuck and Carol Lambert, has been named as the valedictorian for the school year. She graduates with a GPA of 4.18.
Included in her special honors are Math Team, individual first place; TRM Area Youth Tour representative; Southern Pine Youth Tour representative; Principal's Leadership Award; All-District Band; Auburn University Leadership Conference; Alabama Penman, district winner; nominated to Mobile Press Register All-Academic Team; district finalist for Birmingham Post Herald All-State Academic Team; Who's Who Among American High School Students; National Honor Roll; Who's Who, most dependable, most intellectual and most likely to succeed.
Her extracurricular activities include Bank, three years; Majorette, two years; Bible Club, one year; FCA, two years; Math team, two years; National Honor Society, three years, one as vice president; Yearbook, two years and was the editor; Science Club, four years; Student Council, class vice president (9), class treasurer (10), SGA treasurer (11) and SGA Sergeant at Arms (12); Spanish Club, two years; Pep Club, four years and a member of the Senior Play.
She lists her favorite teacher as Mrs. King and her hardest course as Advanced Biology. She plans to attend Auburn University and major in biology. Her advice to an incoming freshman is to get involved with extracurricular activities, set goals and stick to them.
Byron Thomas Caudle of T.R. Miller High School, the son of Alan and Ellen Caudle is the salutatorian of his class with a GPA of 4.146.
His list of special honors include Rotary Student 2002; Alabama Boys State, Principal Award 2004; and TRM Honor Band Award 2004.
Extracurricular activities include Marching band, four years; Kaleidoscope editor, three years; Envirobowl, two years and National Honor Society, three years.
He lists Car Major as his favorite teacher and Spanish I as his hardest course. He plans to attend Auburn University in the fall majoring in electrical engineering and minoring in business eng. tech.
His advice to an incoming freshman is to never give up on your dreams and take college entrance tests early and often.
