Mrs. Myrtice Smith Watson, 82, died Sunday, May 23, 2004. She and her late husband owned Watson's Grocery in Flomaton and were very active in the community. After the death of her husband, she entered college and nursing school. She served at Abernethy Hospital in Flomaton and Providence Hospital in Mobile for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Watson and a sister, Kay Smith of Atmore.
She is survived by three children, Terry Blaine Watson of Flomaton, Sandra Ann Watson Pettis of Pensacola, Fla. and Teddy Albert Watson of Montgomery; her brothers, Clifford Smith of Atmore and Kenneth Ray Smith of Cantonment, Fla.; her sister, Diane Burns of Arcanum, Ohio and four grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Thursday, May 27 at 4 p.m. at Flomaton First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Keese officiating. Burial was at New Bethlehem Cemetery in the Barnett's Crossroads community with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
