Mr. Clifford Van Rossum, 87, died Monday, May 31, 2004 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Pensacola and a resident of Century for the past 52 years. He was retired from St. Regis Paper Company after 42 years of service. He attended the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lorelle Van Rossum.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Cash of Flomaton and Donna Jernigan of Pensacola; a brother, Eldridge Van Rossum of Laurel, Miss.; his mother-in-law, Ila Dee White of Century; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and his care giver, Pam West of Pensacola.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 3, at 11 a.m. at Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Shelton Kindig, Rev. Mike Henderson and Rev. Carl Shiver officiating. Burial followed at Byrneville Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Wayne Johnson, Gary Johnson, Kenny Hammac, Dale Findley, Greg Findley and Daryl Simpson. Honorary pallbearers were Leroy White, John White and Lloyd Barrow.
