Four now former Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks baseball players have taken their skills on to four-year programs.
Catcher Chet McDonough (Etowah, Ga.) has hooked up with Samford University. McDonough hit .300 this spring with two homers. He threw out 42 percent of the runners who tried to steal against him.
Outfielder Leon Brasington (Montgomery) is headed home where he will play at Auburn University at Montgomery. Brasington batted .311 this season.
Lefthanded pitcher Kenny Barnes (Milton, Fla.) has signed with Bethune-Cookman. Barnes was 6-3 with a 3.59 earned run average.
Righthanded pitcher Raphael Kyles (Pensacola, Fla.), who began this spring with the Warhawks although he did not complete the season with them, will join Barnes at Bethune-Cookman.
"I wish them well. They all did a good job for us," JDCC coach Jim Morrill said.

The T.R. Miller Tigers and Lady Tigers basketball teams will be hosting a summer tournament this weekend at the T.R. Miller Gymnasium.
Approximately 10 boys teams and 10 girls teams are scheduled to compete. Play is scheduled to begin Friday at approximately 2:30 p.m. Games will continue Saturday and Sunday.
"We're still trying to finalize the playing schedule of games. That probably won't happen until later in the week when everybody gets their entry fees turned in," Lady Tigers coach Ron Jackson said.
Former T.R. Miller Lady Tiger Deanna Jackson had six points, two rebounds and three assists in Indiana's 70-57 win over Charlotte Sunday in WNBA action.
The win enabled the Fever (3-2) to avenge a 22-point loss to the Sting nine days earlier.
Cheerleader registration for the Brewton Youth Football League 2004 season begins today at the Brewton Public Library at 6 p.m.
Additional sign-ups will be June 16, June 23 and June 30, also at 6 p.m. at the Brewton Public Library.
The fee is $10 per child, while uniforms are $69.99. Those fees need to be paid before July 10 in order for each cheerleader to be fitted for their uniforms.
These fees include everything except for pom poms.
