This year, East Brewton's annual Independence Day festivities will be held on Monday, July 5.
The fun will start at about 9 a.m. on Monday with a spades tournament at the East Brewton Civic Center, and at 1 p.m., bingo will begin.
At 5 p.m., activities will move to Ft. Crawford Park for a horseshoe tournament. There will be bands, performers and other entertainment, and hamburgers, hot dogs and other food for sale.
The annual duck race is scheduled for 6 p.m. To participate in the duck race, you can purchase a rubber duck at the East Brewton City Hall for $5. Money raised for the duck race goes toward paying for the night's fireworks show, which will begin at 10 p.m.
