Mrs. Lucy Kate Varner, 76, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004 in a Pensacola hospital. She was a native of Conecuh County and a resident of Castleberry.
She is survived by three sons, Larry L. Varner and Roland L. Varner Jr., both of Appleton and James H. Varner of Brewton; two daughters, Mary L. Varner and Linda V. Hall, both of Brewton; a brother, Rudolph Lucas of New Orleans; a sister, Anne Lee Weaver; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 2, at 2 p.m. at the Cope Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Earl Wilson officiating. Burial followed at L. Pond Cemetery with Cope Funeral Home directing.
