Mr. Leo William House Jr., 55, died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at his residence in Atmore. He was a native of Escambia County and lived in Atmore for many years. He worked as a forklift driver at Standard Furniture in Bay Minette and had served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Mt. Gillead Baptist Church in Freemanville and was preceded in death by his father, Leo William House Sr. and a sister, Monolia House Goodman.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Lee House of Atmore; six sisters, Lizzie Kennedy of Waterloo, Iowa, Alice Marshall and Barbara McGhee, both of Chicago, Ill., Dorothy O'Neal of Minneapolis, Minn., Margaret Lightfoot of Huntsville and Willie Mae Sharpe of Atmore; four brothers, Robert E. House, Clarence House and Thomas House, all of Atmore and Booker T. Frye of Frisco City.
Funeral services were held Friday, July 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Gillead Baptist Church in Freemanville with Rev. Alfonzia Williams officiating. Burial followed at Stallworth Cemetery in Atmore with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
