Mr. Richard Lee Thompson, 81, died Thursday, July 22, 2004 at his residence on Maddox Street after an extended illness. He was a native of Florida and a life-long resident of Escambia County, Ala. He was a retired logger.
He is survived by four sons, Eddie Thompson, Dale Thompson, Jamie Thompson and Jeffrey Thompson, all of Brewton; three daughters, Karen Nelson of Pensacola, Fla., Rachael Nelson of Brewton and Amy Yokley of Kentucky; three brothers, Bo Thompson, Bobby Thompson and Billy Thompson, all of Brewton; three sisters, Juanita Partin, Doris Bullock and Eloise Agerton, all of Brewton; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Greer officiating. Burial followed at Travis Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
