Mrs. Dorothy Moore Ponds, 89, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, in Pensacola after an extended illness. She was a native of Santa Rosa County and a lifelong resident of Jay. She worked for Judy Bond Manufacturing Company in Brewton for 15 years and was a member of Jay Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Holley J. Moore and Joseph Ponds, and her son, Jerry J. Moore.
She is survived by a son, Mickey Moore of Americus, Ga.; a daughter, Theresa Anderson of Cantonment; a sister, Lorine Wilkes of Laurel Hill, Fla.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at Jay Funeral Home with the Rev. Earle Greene officiating. Burial followed at Jay City Cemetery with Jay Funeral Home directing.
