Mrs. Vellar Mae Rabon Wise Mitchell, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, in a Florida hospital after an extended illness. She was a native and long-time resident of Castleberry and had resided in East Brewton for the past 18 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Chumuckla, Fla.
She is survived by four sons, George Mitchell Sr. and Clyde Eugene Mitchell Jr., both of East Brewton, Joe Daw of Range and Charles Mitchell of Pell City; one step-daughter, Bell Coashett of Pell City; 42 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Herb Van Dyke officiating. Burial followed at Holland Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
