Brewton
John Lee Downing, age 83, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in a Bay Minette veterans healthcare facility. Mr. Downing was born in Montgomery, Ala., and was a longtime resident of Brewton.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hermine Downing of Brewton; a step-son, Travis Holzborn of Spanish Fort; two step-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at 11a.m. at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Gary Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
Craver's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
