Mrs. Cora Flonnie Jackson, 93, died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at local hospital. She was a 1929 graduate of T.R. Miller High School and a resident of Florala for 31 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Florala and attended First Baptist Church of Brewton in recent years. She was active in W.M.U. and a member of the Florala Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Samuel Alto Jackson; three sisters, Cordie Thompson, Eunice Jackson and Beatrice Fountain, and two brothers, James Roby and Carl Roby.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Paul) Smith of Brewton; a son, Dr. Al (Kim) Jackson Jr. of Auburn; two brothers, Burton Roby of Pensacola and John Roby of Decatur; a sister, Mattie (Richard) Lombard of Decatur and a brother-in-law, Charles Jackson of Signal Mt., Tenn., seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 4, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Florala with Dr. Al Jackson and the Rev. Harrell R. Cushing officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Florala with Wyatt Funeral Home directing.
