Mrs. Rutha Mae Arrant Carden, 86, of Keego Road, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County and a homemaker. She was a member of the Catawba Springs Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elmer Curtis Carden.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond Carden of Brewton and Ronnie (Audrey) Carden of Flomaton; one sister, Annie Will Chittenden of Brewton; four grandchildren, Rusty (Frances) Carden, Terri (Jerry) Waller, Robin Coburn and David (Shellie) Carden; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Yuhasz officiating. Burial followed at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
