Mr. Austin Rogers Smith, 69, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at a Daphne healthcare facility after an extended illness. He was a native of the Oak Grove community in Conecuh County and a long time resident of Brewton before moving to Fairhope three years ago. He owned and operated Flowers by Janice for a number of years and attended The Rock Church in Mobile.
He is survived by two sons, Aaron (Robbie) Smith of Mobile and Jerry (Veronica) Smith of Fairhope; three brothers, Wayne Williamson and Ron Williamson, both of Pensacola, and Donny Smith of Mobile; five sisters, Jeannie Jones and Marilyn Franklin, both of Pensacola, and Brenda Gibson, Linda Beasley and Judy Crane. all of Brewton, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 8, at 3 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Crigger and Evangelist Damon Thompson officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
