Covenant Hospice has named a long-time Brewton resident as its April "Employee of the Month" over the entire organization with offices in 12 locations in Florida and Alabama. Forestine Cheatham was honored out of approximately 700 employees for her dedication and commitment to serving patients.
Although Cheatham also has a full-time position as the Day House Supervisor at D.W. McMillan Hospital in Brewton, she still finds time to serve patients with life-limiting illnesses through her position at Covenant Hospice.
Cheatham has been a PRN Case Manager with Covenant Hospice in Andalusia since August 2003. She makes routine visits with patients in the evenings and makes herself available on-call whenever needed. She mainly serves patients in Brewton and the surrounding area. Her dedication to nursing is proven in the countless hours spent caring for patients.
Cheatham was nominated by her co-workers and voted to be "Employee of the Month" by a committee of her peers from each branch. She received a gift certificate to Target and the Olive Garden restaurant for her achievement.
Cheatham has been in nursing for 33 years and has lived in Brewton since 1974. She has three sons.
