Mr. Huey Morris Johnson, 63, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and life-long resident of Escambia County, Ala. He attended East Brewton Church of God. He was an East Brewton Council member since 1992, a member of Auxillary East Brewon Police and a retired truck driver from John Lee Johnson Logging with 40 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Johnson of East Brewton; his mother, Inez Paulk Johnson of East Brewton; one son, Billy (Diane) Johnson of East Brewton; two daughters, Charlotte (Trent) Johnson and Lisa (Gary) McGraw, both of East Brewton; one brother, Amos Johnson of Tennessee; three sisters, Retha McMinnis of Brewton, Faye Butts of Flomaton and Martha Morgan of East Brewton, and seven grandchildren, Jessica Johnson, Gary McGraw Jr., Ciera Elliott, Chasity Elliott, Taylor McGraw, Austin Hiers and Black McGraw.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Skidmore officiating. Burial followed at Damascus Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
