Mrs. Agnes Brown Johnson, 89, of Belleville Avenue, died Saturday, June 4, 2005, at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Monroe County, a former resident of Atmore, and a longtime resident of Brewton. She was a member of North Brewton Baptist Church where she was a member of the Scripture Gleaners Lady's Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker and former employee of Johnson Gas Company.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Johnson of Brewton; a brother, the Rev. Fred Brown of Atmore; one sister, Ethel Strength of Atmore and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 6, 2005, at 11 a.m. at North Brewton Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael King officiating. Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
