It appears businesses and homes are targets for erratic driving this week. A teenage girl crashed her SUV into the home of Ann and Bo Marshall Monday evening.
Around 7 p.m. a Tahoe driven by a 16-year-old female crashed into the Marshall home located on Appleton Road.
Minnie Pearl Casey, Ann Marshall's sister, said she heard a loud crash. Her nephew stepped outside and didn't see anything. Later, Ann Marshall called her sister and asked her if she wanted to see a car in her house.
Casey said that they believe the young girl driving the SUV overcorrected the vehicle. She said there was asphalt loose on Appleton Road and the SUV went off the other side of the road.
The vehicle then proceeded to hit a security light pole, which broke in half and managed to make its way into the center of the house. Casey said that the back of the Tahoe was even with the wall.
Bo Marshall had just left the area 30 seconds prior to the accident. Luckily, there were no injuries reported inside the home.
The 16-year-old female driver was taken to the emergency room and had no injuries, Casey said.
Insurance adjustors will be arriving at the house this morning to collect an estimate on the damage.
Despite the girls' new driver status "it could've been anybody," Casey said.
Last week, a truck plowed into the front portion of Hainje's furniture store. Richard Tidwell was given citations for driving without a license, having an expired tag and having no insurance on the vehicle.
