Dewey Talmadge Blackman

Mr. Dewey Talmadge Blackman, 68, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005. He was a native of Daleville, and had resided in Jay for the past 67 years. He was an active member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. He had retired from the State of Florida where he worked as a chemist for 39 years at the Jay Research Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Luverne Blackman.
He is survived by his children Stan (Belinda) Blackman and Ken Blackman, both of Brownsdale and Greg (Ginger) Blackman of Mount Carmel; two grandchildren, Robin Nicole Blackman of Brownsdale and Caleb Gregory Blackman of Mount Carmel; two sisters, Dean (Jerry) McGee of Brownsdale and Hilda (Larry) Williamson of East Brewton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. John F. Edwards and the Rev. George McClure officating. Burial followed in the Mount Carmel Cemetery with Jay Funeral Home directing.
