Raising awareness, funds for charities
Brewton's Dr. Jeffrey Williams plans to spend Sept. 3-11 riding his bike from one end of Alabama to another.
Williams' goal is to raise awareness of the sacrifices of two individuals and to raise money for charities, he said in a letter written to potential supporters.
Williams said he wants to raise $10,000 for two charities, the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Johnny Michael Spann Memorial Scholarship Fund at Auburn University.
Donations in support of his ride can be made directly to either charity at the addresses below.
