Brewton City Schools welcomes new students

T. R. Miller High School will provide an orientation for all ninth grade students and any new students along with parents who want to attend on Friday, August 5, from 10 a.m. until noon in the high school auditorium.
Included in the orientation will be the informative and motivational program, "Making High School Count". Ninth grade students will receive their class schedules during this time.
Schedules will be available for registered T.R. Miller High School students in the school lunchroom in the following order:
Seniors - Monday, August 1 from 9 - 11 a.m.
Juniors - Monday, August 1 from 1 - 3 p.m.
Sophomores - Tuesday, August 2 from 9 - 11:30 a.m..
Students who do not receive their schedules before Monday, August 8 will receive them when they report to homeroom at 8 a.m. on Monday, August 8.
Brewton Middle School will host an orientation for fifth grade students and their parents on Sunday, August 7, at 2 p.m. in the media center at the middle school.
Students enrolled at Brewton Elementary School should attend with their parents to meet their teachers and have a brief orientation on Monday, August 8, during the following specified times:
Kindergarten – 11:30 a.m.
First grade – 1 p.m.
Second grade - 8 a.m.
Third grade - 9 a.m.
Fourth grade - 10 a.m.
Students will not remain at school after the registration and orientation period; however, all school supplies should be brought to school on August 8.
The first day of school for T. R. Miller High School students and Brewton Middle School students is Monday, August 8. Students will attend the full day, and buses will run their regular routes.
Students have been notified of the dress code and are required to be in compliance on the first day of school. Students should be prepared to pay their locker rentals (TRM – $5; BMS – $6).
The parents of any new student to the school system should register through the guidance office of the child's school before Wednesday, August 3, so the student will be assigned to classes by the first day of school. To assist in scheduling it would be beneficial to register as soon as possible.
Parents who have not paid the $100 out-of-district fee should pay the fee at the student's school before Friday, July 29 to maintain enrollment in school. The Parent and Student Agreement must also be signed and returned.
