Wilson Mallard retires after 11 years as police chief in East Brewton
By MARY-ALLISON LANCASTER-Managing editor
East Brewton Police Chief Mallard retired from the police department July 28. A retirement party was held in his honor at city hall.
Friends, family and co-workers gathered around a table full of food and presented Mallard with plaques and gifts, as he carefully wiped away tears from his eyes.
Mallard had served as police chief for more than 11 years. As a going away gift, a rocking chair was placed in the city hall where Mallard sat down after he cut his cake.
B.C. Cooper officially clocked in on July 28 as the new East Brewton police chief.
