A dinner meeting at the Brewton Retail Grocers Association will be held tonight at Marlane's at 7:30. Rutland Rowe, Poultry Produce Inspector for the State Department of Agriculture, will explain the recently passed egg law, which requires the inspection, candling and grading of all eggs sold in Alabama.
Richard Langford will teach a course in water safety at the municipal swimming pool this week.
Four band students from W.S. Neal are attending the summer music clinic at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute this week.
A $6,000 expenditure has been used to repair city schools. T.R. Miller High School had a number of repairs: all windows replaced in their auditorium, a reworking of all plumbing in the science laboratory and all sheetrock replaced in the hall, to name a few. Washington Junior High School had the stair treads replaced and painted. The Elementary school had four restrooms repainted and new cork bulletin boards are displayed in the halls.
