When last season ended, Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks volleyball coach Misti Nims knew she had one rebuilding project with her team's 7-21 record.
It is the way Nims has had to try to change her team's won/loss fortunes that threw her a bit of a curve in the offseason.
With seven freshmen on last season's roster, JDCC figured to have a solid nucleus to build around. It did not turn out that way, as only one of those seven freshmen, outside hitter Tiffany Andersen, opted to return.
The Lady Warhawks roster has gotten a boost with the return of middle hitter Lashundra Clausell. Clausell sat out last season as a redshirt.

better since last season," Nims said.
Ashley Willoughby, a 5-9 freshman from Pensacola (Fla.), may have the inside track for the other outside hitter slot although Elizabeth Haddock, a 5-7 freshman from Vernon (Fla.) may also factor into the equation.
Clausell, a 5-9 sophomore from Cantonment (Fla.), played an outside hitter spot when she last suited up for the Lady Warhawks. This year she is being shifted to the middle.
The addition of 6-1 freshman Brandy Bernt from Tampa gives the Lady Warhawks something they have desperately needed for a while and that is size. Bernt will probably join Clausell in the middle.
Robyn Duncan, a 5-8 freshman from Pace (Fla.), may be used as a designated right side hitter.
JDCC's primary setter in its five-one offense figures to be Jessica Stafford, a 5-8 freshman from Milton.
Kandace Stewart, a 5-5 freshman from Bay Minette, could play in the second setter spot in the Lady Warhawks use that
kind of lineup or she could be

used as a defensive specialist.
Tiffany Lively, a 5-4 freshman from Milton, Kimberly Deese, a 5-4 freshman from Ashord, and Jessica Brown, a 5-4 freshman from Deatsville, also figure to be specialist role players.
While the Lady Warhawks enter 2005 with a young roster, the JDCC skipper said most of the Alabama Community College Conference is in a similar position. JDCC went 6-10 in ACCC action last year.
