Mrs. Mary Frances Johnson, 86, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, at a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Brewton. She had resided in Washington, DC since 1935 before returning to Brewton in 1990. She was a member of Word of Life Church and was retired from working for the Architect of the Capitol. She was preceded in death by a son, Chasteen Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Elder Herbert C. Moore of Jacksonville, Fla., HueBert L. Brown of Milton, Fla., Miley Bell and Marsha Johnson, both of Washington, D.C., Constance Johnson of Clinton, Md., Saundra Wilson of Lilburn, Ga., Cheryl Marshall of Brewton, Ivan Johnson of Hinesville, Ga., Larry Johnson of New York City, and Eric Johnson of Middle River, Md.; a host of grandchildren and many other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. at Presley-Fluker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Henry W. Roberts Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Pine Grove Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
