Clyde F. Madden, a former Brewton minister, was sentenced Thursday afternoon for enticing a minor in 2003.
Madden was the former pastor of the Brewton United Pentecostal Church on Hwy. 31. He was arrested on Feb. 7, 2003 and charged with one count of enticing a child to enter a vehicle, house, etc. for immoral purposes, according to reports made in 2003.
Russell Martin, an adult female, approached the Brewton Police Department two years ago and accused Madden of inappropriate sexual conduct toward her that lasted for a period of about four years. At the time of the sexual misconduct, Martin was a minor.
Madden was sentenced to one year in jail, which was suspended all but 35 days, District Attorney Steve Billy said. He added that Madden will have the right to appeal.
