Area residents will have an excellent opportunity to have fun and get great exercise with the Brewton YMCA and Smurfit-Stone collaborate later this month for their annual 5K run/walk and one-mile fun run/walk on Oct. 29.
Designed to promote fitness, the event will begin at the YMCA and is a flat course through neighborhoods near the Y. A water station will be set up at the midpoint to give participants an opportunity to rehydrate.
Registration is underway and will continue until the day of the race. Entry fees are $12 per person, $8 for children 12 and under, $5 per person for the fun run/walk only, and $15 for a family of up to five members for the fun run/walk only.
Awards will be presented to winners. Refreshments and door prizes will follow the event.
