Tony Cameron Johnson, a Brewton native who resided in Elberta, was found dead Thursday, Sept. 29, the Baldwin County Sheriff's office said last week.
On Thursday morning, investigators from the sheriff's office, Foley Police Department and the Baldwin County District Attorney's office responded to a call, which led them to a residence on Woerner Road in Elberta.
According to a news release, investigators were notified after Johnson's wife, Debbie, discovered his body in their front yard.
Investigators had placed Johnson, 47, at a bar at Cliffs Landing near Crossroads Wednesday night. Johnson had allegedly left the bar with a friend who reported that he drove Johnson home and dropped him off at Johnson's residence, the news release said.
The time and cause of death had not been determined yet and the Alabama Department of Forensics Sciences in Mobile did not have a conclusive autopsy report this week.
According to news reports, funeral arrangements were pending the state's release of the body.
As of Tuesday morning, there were no new developments, said Vicki Jackson, an administrative secretary with the Baldwin County Sheriff's office.
