Rev. Chester Hilverd Cain, 77, of Cooper Cemetery Road, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, at a Santa Rosa County, Fla. hospital after an extended illness. He was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, Ala. He was a retired Holiness minister and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Myrtice Singleton Cain of Castleberry; two sons, Marion (Debbie) Cain of Lenox and Maurice Cain of Castleberry; three brothers, Leo Cain and Ray Cain, both of Castleberry and Burns Cain of Lenox; four sisters, Eula Mae Pugh and Wilma Chavers, both of Brewton, Betty Faye Madden of Castleberry, and Ophelia Chavers of Molino, Fla.; three grandchildren, Amanda Cain Harris, Malachi Cain and Donnie Few; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Stevie Cooper and the Rev. Russ McDonald officiating. Burial followed at Glory Hill Church Cemetery on Appleton Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
