Dr. F.M. Phillippi Jr., 89, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, in a Camden nursing home. He was a longtime resident of Brewton and Camden. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Camden Presbyterian Church. He was a physician for many years, including years in Brewton.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Kerlin Phillippi of Camden; two sons, Dr. F.M. (Diane Scharnitsky) Phillippi III and George Mcown (Martha) Phillippi; three grandchildren, Dr. F.M. (Dr. Catherine) Phillippi IV of Jackson, Miss., Kathryn Phillippi of Mobile and Patrick Kerlin Phillippi of Meridian, Miss.; and two great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, at 10:30 a.m. at the Phillippi Family Cemetery in Camden.
