Somebody broke into a kindergarten room at the Brewton Elementary School last week and vandalized it, Brewton Police Department officials said.
According to Officer Russell Martin, somebody took a grate, broke a window and entered teacher Ann Crosby's kindergarten room and vandalized it. The elementary school is located at 901 Douglas Ave.
Martin said that the suspect trashed the room but did not steal anything. All the books were strewn about and profanity had been written on the chalkboard.
The incident appeared to happen between Friday, Oct. 15 and Monday, Oct. 17. School was out on Monday due to Parent Visitation Week.
Martin said that the maintenance crew found the mess earlier this week and contacted the police department.
As of Friday, officers had no leads or suspects and are still investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding the vandalism is urged to contact the Brewton Police Department at 867-3212.
